2nd Annual Jacob's Run 2012 - A Website Dedicated to the Memory of Jacob Allen Floars
Thank you for visiting Jacob’s Run.
Also visit our Facebook page called "Memorial and Benefit Run".
We would like to thank everyone who has been praying for us and all the calls, cards and letters.  It has been hard losing a child.  Harder than anything in our lives.  With God and the support of the church, family and friends we are able to deal with it better.
Our son, Jacob, was a gift from God.  We got to spend 17 years with him and for that we are grateful.   He was a passenger in a horrible car crash.  Losing him is so hard on us and the way he died.
We started thinking about a way to do something good in his memory.  He was a giving child.  He cut his long, blonde hair a few years ago to give to Locks of Love with no problem.  He would not cut it because I told him to, but he did it for someone else that needed it and that he didn’t know.  He also gave toys that he had to kids less fortunate at Christmas.  We were to rebuild bicycles that were lying around the house to give to kids this past Christmas.  He had it in him to do good for others, and did.  His strong belief in God gave him his tender and compassionate heart.
We wanted to continue his goodness through this bike run for the Children’s Hospital.  We hope you will attend this event with the same feeling of doing something good for someone too.
Last year's event was a big success!  We again thank all those who attended this event last year and hope to see each and every one of you again this year for an even bigger and better Jacob's Run!
           Thanks again,

"We are so grateful to everyone participating in the 1st Annual Jacob's Run to benefit University Health Systems Children's Hospital.  Because of the commitment of so many dedicated volunteers helping to put this event together and the participation of so many riders, the lives of countless sick and injured children here in eastern North Carolina will be touched.  Together, we can make a difference in the life of a child."
